Since 2007, Annina Schneller is a research assistant in Communication Design at Bern University of the Arts, responsible for the development of the research field Design and Rhetoric. As a student of the doctorate programme Graduate School of the Arts Bern, Annina Schneller is currently working on her dissertation project "Amateur Design".
In 2003, she gained her M.A. in philosophy, mass communication studies and German literature at the Universities of Bern and Humboldt Berlin. Her master thesis was on the interdependence between language interpretation and understanding other people. From 2005 – 2006 she worked as a research assistant in the Swiss National Science Foundation project "Saying & Meaning and the semantics/pragmatics distinction" about H. Paul Grice’s philosophy of language at the University of Bern and was co-founder of the research group meaning.ch. She also worked as chief editor of the website www.kathbern.ch, was project manager of Kulturinformatik Bern and communication assistant at "VIPER - International Festival for Film, Video and New Media" in Basel.
