BA Visual Communication
In the Visual Communication programme, students work on planning, implementing and transmitting information in visual form. On the basis of individual projects, they develop their own communication language and design stance.
The broad modular offer links theory and practical work in the studio. The course prepares students for the professional world, which calls for designers with an independent style, an interdisciplinary working technique and knowledge linking many different areas. Students learn to make decisions, reflect on ideas, argue creatively and develop their own visual language.
The Bachelor’s degree is a professional qualification. After completing the course, graduates usually work freelance or as employees in agencies and workshops. The BA qualifies graduates for a subsequent Master Programme in Communication Design.

Perspectives
The aim of the bachelor’s degree course in Visual Communication is the education and training of creative designers who, along with being able to achieve the concrete expression of information in pictorial form, are also aware of the processes attendant upon a task and are familiar with the professional environment.
The wide-ranging, general design education allows graduates of the Bachelor programme in Visual Communication a variety of career paths as "visual workers". In this relatively new branch, independent design activities are possible as well as employment in a graphic artists' workshop, in design agencies, publishing houses or public institutions.
Degree
On passing the degree programme, students receive the title Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication.
This Bachelor degree is a sufficient qualification for most communication and design jobs. It is the foundation and prerequisite for a subsequent Master degree programme.
