Registration, Enrolment, Studying

Registration by degree programme

A prerequisite for studying at the BUA is passing the aptitude test of the degree programme the applicant has chosen. Depending on the programme, the test may include documentation of the applicant’s own work to date, a performance, playing a piece of music, an outline of a project or an examination. The admissions procedure also always includes a discussion about the student’s motivation for their studies. The jury for the selected programme then assesses the applicant’s artistic and/or practical aptitude for studying at the BUA and takes a decision regarding their admission.

Completing an Exchange Semester, a Guest Semester or Individual Modules at the BUA

Students enrolled at another university can complete individual parts of their studies at the BUA – as exchange students, guest students or external students in the framework of cooperative study programmes. They remain enrolled at their own university and pay their tuition fees there. Students have to pay the costs directly associated with their time as guest student themselves (materials and costs of excursions, etc.). Exchange and guest students also have to apply for a place of study with a portfolio/a piece of music they have played. Those in charge of the course in question will decide whether the student can be admitted.
