For the academic year 2012/2013

The foundation will give two scholarships of CHF 15`000 each to dancers and choreographers studying in the Theatre Master`s programme at the BUA. The foundation aims to support dancers and choreographers hoping to develop their professional practice further or into a new direction with the Master`s degree programme Performative Arts/Scenic Arts Practice.

These scholarships are available only to Master students that have a diploma from a dance and/or choreography academy recognised by the state and at least 3 years of professional experience.

On presentation of the required confirmation of studies, the foundation will transfer the scholarship sum in three installments at the beginning of each semester - each installment amounting to a third of the total, i.e. CHF 5`000.00.

The application for the scholarship must include the following:

• A confirmation from the BUA Theatre Department that the applicant passed the admissions procedure (including his/her acceptance of the place of studies)
• A tabular CV with photograph
• A copy of the diploma from an academy recognised by the state
• A demonstration of the applicant`s financial situation 
• A personal statement about the motivation to pursue these Master studies (max. 1 A4 page)

The application should be submitted to: the office of the Beatrice and Otto Tschumi Foundation, Peter Gurtner, advocate and notary, Brünnenstrasse 115, 3018 Bern.

The deadline for applications is the end of June 2012. 

There is no right to a scholarship. The decision if and to whom a scholarship will be awarded, is only subject to the judgement of the board of the foundation and their decision is final.
