Research

The Master’s degree in Composition/Theory at the BUA is closely related to Interpretation Research and to the research area Intermediality.

Important topics include sonification, intermediality and transdisciplinarity of modern sound environments, as well as microtonality and – closely associated with it – new developments in constructing acoustic instruments. Master’s students may also participate directly in the work packages of BUA research projects on issues of new notation, documentation and interpretation.
