Urgent Fantasy MA Design Festival 2026

MAD Festival 2026 takes ‘Urgent Fantasy’ as its compass. The dominant logic of our time insists there is no alternative, no outside, no elsewhere. And yet, at the margins, in the gaps, something persists: the stubborn, urgent human capacity to imagine otherwise. When survival depends on envision- ing what does not yet exist, fantasy becomes a radical act, the fracture where new worlds emerge: in stories and games, in communities and economic experiments, in art forms that refuse the given. Guests: Amadeus N. Kapp, Anan Fries, Juan Fortun, Kollektiv Avalon.

The MAD Festival is planned, organized, and carried out by students in the MA Design program.
