Biography
- Christian Hopp studied business administration in Germany, the Netherlands and the USA. He completed his doctorate (Dr. rer. Pol.) In quantitative economics and finance at the University of Konstanz. He completed his master's degree in business administration at the University of Pittsburgh (MBA) and at the Rotterdam School of Management (Master in Financial Management).

Since July 2020 he heads the Institute for Applied Data Science and Finance at the BFH. In 2025 he also took over the role as head of research at the department. Until 2020 he headed the teaching and research area Technologyoriented Entrepreneurship at RWTH Aachen University. Before that he was an assistant professor at the University of Vienna from 2008 to 2013. His research interests are primarily in the areas of start-up management, start-up financing and personnel economics.
