JACK Quartet
The JACK Quartet plays miniatures by composition students from Creative Practice and Contemporary Jazz, concluding with HIDDEN by Chaya Czernowin – a 45-minute, subtly audible work.
26.11.2025, 8pm–10pm – HKB, Grosser Konzertsaal, Papiermühlestrasse 13d, 3014 Bern
In this concert JACK will premiere miniatures written specifically for them by composition students from both CCJ and CCP and will also perform HIDDEN , by Chaya Czernowin, a piece that attempts to reach further where there is a barely audible presence, which is on the edge of our perception. It is a very slow moving 45 minute experience transforming the ear into an eye.
Comprising violinists Christopher Otto and Austin Wulliman, violist John Pickford Richards, and cellist Jay Campbell, JACK Quartet embarks on their third decade as a pioneering string quartet synchronized in their mission to create an international community through transformative, mind-broadening experiences and close listening. Founded in 2005, the ensemble operates as a nonprofit organization dedicated to the performance, commissioning, and appreciation of 20th and 21st century string quartet music, delving deeply into challenging new compositions and musical practices from a staggering range of stylistic viewpoints.
