Situation
The Job, Study, and Career Counseling Service (BSLB) supports young people and adults in choosing a career or course of study and in shaping their professional careers. A current project is investigating how AI can support counseling in this area. This is being investigated as part of a feasibility study in collaboration with researchers from the field of applied psychology at the FHNW and partners from the field.
Course of action
In close cooperation with the advisors of the Job, Study, and Career Counseling Service (BSLB), focus groups and interviews are used to clarify the need for and benefits of AI tools. Based on this, a technical feasibility study is then conducted to determine how AI can best support this area and what the next steps might be.
Looking ahead
A human-centered approach to AI is very important. When used responsibly and purposefully, AI software can deliver added value to users and improve processes.
