Interview: Three questions for María Giuliana Seguino
Why are you studying opera?
Because opera is the most complete and exciting art. This is the area where I can convey emotions the most. Because it is in opera that I discover all the possible nuances of expression, it is opera that transports me to so many different states and it is there that I find my true inner artist.
What was your first encounter with opera?
My first encounter with opera was playing the role of Cherubino when I was in my twenties, it was an amazing experience and a lot of fun!
Which is your favourite opera and why?
It's really hard to choose just one, but I think it's Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème. His magnificent arias, duets, theatrical and orchestral expressiveness. I love the different scenes that are so contrasting. The quartet is one of my favourite moments where the two scenes of the two couples are mixed and the music intertwines these oppositions.
