Dreaming the Mainstream / Beyond the Paperback Revolution

In his book Realometer (Merve Verlag, 2007) cultural critic, science fiction novelist, and artist Mark von Schlegell claims the history of experimental writing and its publishing has far more to do with the nature of reality than we ordinarily imagine. In this lecture von Schlegell discusses aspects of his own hybrid literary/art practice in the theoretical context of ’the paperback revolution’ and its aftermath.

Together with the Division of Design and Fine Art at Bern Academy of the Arts, the Stadtgalerie Bern is organising a new series of talks entitled «GK zu Gast». The invited artists will present their work in various formats and discuss it with a wider audience. We look forward to interesting and lively discussions.
