Climate-resilient conservation strategies for architectural monuments

The project investigates how Switzerland's architectural heritage can be protected against the effects of climate change and develops the basis for climate-resilient conservation strategies.

Factsheet

Situation

Climate change is profoundly affecting Switzerland, with Alpine warming since the late 19th century occurring at twice the global rate. This trend endangers monuments, historic towns and gardens, and cultural landscapes. Our project addresses these challenges by examining climate impacts on architectural heritage and devising resilient conservation strategies.
