Interview: Three questions for Daria Akulova
Why are you studying opera?
Through opera I can express all my feelings and give them to the audience. This makes me happy. The synthesis of different arts makes opera an exceptional genre!
What was your first encounter with opera?
I was first introduced to opera as a child. I was about 10 years old. My parents took me to the opera house in my hometown (Dnipro) and I was surprised by the action on stage. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly which opera it was, but the impression remained strong until this day.
Which is your favourite opera and why?
My favourite opera is La Bohème composed by Giacomo Puccini. Everything about this opera is beautiful, but I am most fascinated by the role of Mimi. I would love to interpret this role in my own performance!
