The Lady of the Lake – A surreal comic opera by Viviane Urio

A surreal comic opera in which a structure marked by incest is guided toward transformation. We dive into the creation of the legendary sword Excalibur, a symbol of truth forged by the Lady of the Lake. Through a living counterpoint blending text, music, and stage, the archetypes of this myth dance in the depths of the lake, which is soft and sour as was your grandmother’s pussy during her luteal phase.

With 12 performers
Costumes and scenography collaboration with Atalaya and the Unilabs Centers

What does a piano key sound like if you take away the strings?
If you strike the air with a hammer, it still makes a sound.
The objects have sounds without us, they breathe, they creak, they fall apart creating dust.
We are just instruments, passing by.

When do you live?

'When do you live?' is a music theatre work portraying a protagonist who appears as two figures, living in different times. Unable to meet, they connect through an old-fashioned tool, leaving traces for one another. Their inner voices unfold in an imaginary dialogue through instruments, while live electronics bring the stage to life. As the rush of modern life interrupts their uncanny, liminal space, they begin to sense a deeper essence of living.

A music theatre work by Natsumi Kumagishi – conception, composition, multimedia realization, and performance (saxophones and theatrical elements)

Blue, Red, I Never Said

This project begins with lyrics and their melodies. A patchwork quilt of songs with complementary musical fabrics and conceptual threads, stitched together into a whole. These songs sing of a fraught relationship with the idea of home and belonging, of strange, identity-bending love between strange, gender-bending people, of the political and personal reflections of a 20-something year old person facing a climate that is twisting into something altered and terrifying, a homeland that is leaning into its fascist and imperial sides, and family (of the found and blood varieties) spread across continents and oceans. Glimpses of our vast, gorgeous, and horrifying world through the sung words of one tiny ape.

Performers: Elena Sword, Celia Denore López, Bridget Bourne, Maria Criscione, TBD

TRACES – Someone Deep In Thoughts Who Is Constantly Interrupted

The etymology of the word 'trace', from the vulgar Latin tractiare 'to mark out, to mark, to trace', dates back to the 12th century: 'a mark left by someone in a place where they have passed'.
TRACES – Someone Deep In Thoughts Who Is Constantly Interrupted offers a rather personal genealogy. Dialoguing, questioning, evoking and fragmenting an 'imaginary sound museum' to create a mixed work in which the unexpected and the threshold between fiction and reality, between past and present, between linear and rhizomatic narration can take place.

L’étymologie du mot «trace», issu du latin vulgaire tracciare  marquer, «tracer», remonte au XIIe siècle: «marque laissée par quelqu’un à l’endroit où il est passé».
TRACES – Someone Deep In Thoughts Who Is Constantly Interrupted propose une généalogie assez personnelle.

Performers: Martin Sanhueza (electric guitar), Hortense Airault (cello), Mireia Pellisa Martin (saxophones), Anna Roberta Von Arx (clarinets), Núria Carbó Vives (percussions) and Igor Tiozzo Netti (percussions)

incredible, ok bye!

Do your eyes hear the music in the world around you? Can you hear a melody in the way bodies move? There is harmony when we speak, and unlike sound waves, it rings louder the further away you are. “incredible, ok bye!” brings out the pitches of personal connections, the virtuosity of our ever-more visual world, the melody of movement, the harmony of hidden city rhythms, and the dissonance of distance. There is music to be found in everything, if only we look for it. We resonate with objects in our lives and given the chance, they resonate back.
